The newest stage production from the South Okanagan Player’s recounts a love story through the ages.

Old Love, written by Canadian comic playwright Norm Foster, follows the lives of Bud and Molly over three decades. One of them is smitten from the very first meeting, the other, is less so. Through the use of flashbacks the play jumps around on how Bud falls hopelessly in love with his boss’s wife Molly.

Sharing the role of Bud is veteran SOAP Theatre actor Patrick Turner, who plays the older version, and new SOAP actor Clem Jones while Molly is played by newcomers Lyn Kaulback, older, and Sarah Wilkie.

“The play moves forward and back through their sporadic encounters, mostly manufactured by Bud, with each character baring their heart and soul to the other in poignant monologues. The cast is rounded out by Tracey Henderson, Jeff Smith and Chelsea Cameron-Horner, who are all up to the fun challenge on playing multiple roles,” a press release from SOAP Theatre stated.

Clever and witty dialogue celebrates the pursuit of love.

“Charmingly written, Foster’s use of one-liners serves the script well and has the audience smiling, chuckling and laughing throughout the play,” the press release goes on to state.

The play is directed by Jen Jensen and produced by Nathan Linders
