A Keremeos and area parent discussion group begins the first of a six session program, 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, February 25 at the Family Centre on Third Street, Keremeos.

The group is open to all interested parents, step parents, grandparents and other caregivers with an interest in the development of toddlers to pre-teens.

The discussion group will make use of a program from the eighties and still going strong throughout North America.  It’s called S.T.E.P.  or “systematic training for effective parenting.”

“From video presentation produced with adult and child actors, discussions will flow into areas of real day to day challenges faced in doing a good job for our kids,” says Dave Cursons, group facilitator for the program

Anyone interested in registering, or in finding out more about the Saturday parent discussion group can contact Cursons at 250-499-2352, local 107 or drop by the Lower Similkameen Community Services Society offices, open 8 to noon, Monday to Friday at the corner of Veterans and Third Street across from the health unit.
