Families can come out and watch a movie under the stars on Aug. 15 with the Interior Savings Moonlight Movie Tour when it comes to Penticton.

The screening of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is being hosted by Interior Savings in partnership with BGC Okanagan, formerly known as the Boys and Girls Club of the Okanagan.

The movie will be shown on a giant inflatable screen set up in Okanagan Lake Park, with a concession stand set up for people to pick a few things up ahead of the movie.

There are no tickets being sold for the show, but donations are being accepted and all funds raised go towards BGC Okanagan.

Everyone interested in coming to the show is encouraged to come early to stake out a spot and to participate in some pre-show family activities.

“Proceeds from this event will help BGC Okanagan provide children, youth and families the tools to realize positive outcomes in self-expression, academics, healthy living, physical activity, mental health, leadership and more. We do this through our daycare, afterschool care, recreation, and support programs that help them become their best selves,” says Richelle Leckey, Community Engagement Coordinator of BGC Okanagan.

This screening is one of nine Moonlight Movie nights taking place throughout the Interior of B.C. this summer, each benefiting a local non-profit organization. Since 2010 the tour has raised over $183,000 for programs across the Interior.

Gates open at 7 p.m. Movie-goers will want to bring cash for admission and concession stand treats, as well as lawn chairs and blankets for maximum comfort.
