Tickets are still available for Saturday’s 2019 South Okanagan Similkameen Crime Stoppers live auction, dinner and dance.

The second annual event will be held at the Copper Mug Pub, a generous supporter of the organization.

According to director Leigh Ondrack this event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the local Crime Stoppers, a non-profit organization.

“We rely solely on the contributions from the communities we serve,” said Ondrack.

According to president Al Sismey since 1992 the the volunteer group has has assisted law enforcement with almost 900 arrests, the recovery of $1.9 million in stolen property and the seizure of over $14 million in illegal drugs.

“Through your support, with a gift or monetary donation, or simply by purchasing a $25 ticket to the event we will be able to help law enforcement to catch the people who are committing crimes in our communities,” said Sismey.

Tickets will not be on sale at the door but can be purchased by contacting the main office of Crime Stoppers at 250-490-2374 or Ondrack directly at 250-493-8922.
