Thirty-five residents attended the Wood Heating Workshop held at the Keremeos Grist Mill and Gardens on October 27.

There were many prizes won at the end of the event with Tina Estin winning the grand prize, a $150 dollar fan from North West Stoves.  Everyone went home with an information package  that included a moisture meter for testing moisture content in firewood and a wood heating DVD.

For more information on how to minimize smoke pollution when operating a wood stove, view the resources posted on the RDOS website, www.rdos.bc.ca, click on Department - Public Works - Air Quality - Wood Heating.

The wood heating DVD and information handouts are also available at the RDOS office at 101 Martin St. Penticton.

Thank you to all those who  sponsored the event.
