Okanagan Beard Festival kicks off in Penticton for their fourth season

Beer and beards were on tap at Cannery Brewing in Penticton for the Okanagan Beard Festival.

Road closures and frigid temperatures kept some contestants away for the first evening of the fourth annual event, however, organizers are going to extend registration into this year’s contest. Those who still want to enter the festival, which is co-produced by Okanoggin Barber Shop and Splendid Bastard Beard Company, can attend round two on Feb. 25 at the Barking Parrot Bar from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event has raised almost $10,000 for the Discovery House in the past three years.
