For the seventh year in a row, the Town of Oliver has received the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada presents the award every year to municipal governments to recognize and encourage high-quality public financial reports.

The Canadian Award for Financial Reporting Achievement is awarded to the Oliver Finance Department as the designated staff responsible for preparing the financial report for 2018. The Town of Oliver has received the award since 2012.

According to the release on the award from the GFOA, the annual financial report was judged by “impartial Canadian Review Committee members to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive ‘spirit of full disclosure’designed to clearly communicate the municipality’s financial story and to motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.”

The report which earned the reward can be viewed online at 2019 Annual Report/Financial Report .
