The South Okanagan Tim Hortons Smile Cookie week raised a new record of $42,579 for the fundraiser. That’s a lot of Smile cookies happily consumed.
One-hundred per cent of the money raised from the cookie sales goes to the Okanagan Similkameen Neurological Society’s (OSNS) Legacy Fund.
“We are humbled by the support of our wonderful community,” said OSNS executive director Manisha Wilms.
From Sept. 19 to 25, thousands of cookies were bought thanks to the energetic staff at each Tim Hortons encouraging people to buy Smile cookies, and cheering each time one, two or a dozen were purchased.
The OSNS Legacy Foundation is working towards securing the delivery of pediatric rehabilitation in the South Okanagan. OSNS’s Penticton based children’s centre serves over 1,600 children annually.
Last November, the Tim Hortons’ Stawarz family made a $250,000 pledge towards the foundation.
