The SS Sicamous celebrates the season with a light-up party Dec. 14

Carollers, Santa, a holiday model train, and more will be available by donation.

The SS Sicamous celebrates the holiday season on Dec. 14 with a light-up party.

This year, the Sicamous is turning the annual holiday light up into a community party, inviting families to come down for an evening of fun from 4 p.m. until 6. The museum is usually closed for the holiday season, but will be open for the night’s celebration.

Decorations will be up inside and outside the historic paddlewheeler, and the KVR model train inside will be riding a special Christmas-themed railway. Santa will be onboard for photos, and guests are invited to enjoy hot chocolate and hot apple cider.

Victorian carollers will be performing all through the party, with both traditional and modern-day holiday musical choices.

There will also be a silent auction featuring donated gift baskets, with funds raised supporting the S.S. Sicamous Heritage Society in maintaining and restoring the local landmark.
