It will be a time to embrace plants and gardening at Seedy Saturday later this month.
The plant sale, organized by the Friends of the Ornamental Gardens, will be held March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Summerland Alliance Church, 14820 Victoria Rd. N.
Lauren Hughes, organizer of the event, said the event will feature seeds, some bedding plants and a baker on site. Members of the Summerland Fall Fair Society will also be present.

In addition, two information sessions will be held. Composting and mulch in your garden will be held at 11 a.m. and bees and beekeeping in the Okanagan will be held at 1 p.m.
Door prizes and master gardeners will also be available.
Hughes said Summerland and the South Okanagan is an area with a strong gardening tradition and many people growing their own gardens.
“The agriculture here is very rich,” she said.
This is the second year the Seedy Saturday event is being held at the church. Hughes said the church has a community garden project on a portion of its property, making the venue an ideal spot for a seed and gardening event.
