PHOTOS: Summerland students create poems with diversity themes

Work was done by Grade 3 and 4 students at Giant’s Head School

Students in Grade 3 and 4 at Giant’s Head School recently wrote poems for part of a school project.

The poems were written in a unit on diversity in Carol Barton’s class. They were in response to the book, Where Are You From? by Jamie Kim.

Barton said she had the students write in response to the following statement. “Tell me where you are from… I want to see it through your eyes… I want to hear it in your voice… I want to feel it in my heart.”
