PHOTOS: Sizzling sunsets and orange moon in South Okanagan

The wildfires are producing some stunning sunsets and an orange moon

The smoke from the wildfires is producing some beautiful sunsets and moonscapes, painting the sky and the moon orange across South Okanagan.

Environment Canada calls for temperatures to continue to scorch us into the mid-30s for the rest of the week while ground crew firefighters continue tirelessly through the heat, fighting the Thomas Creek fire.

There’s been no let up from the heat since the start of June. Then there was the heat dome where temperatures reached the high 40s for over a week.

This stunning sunset pictures by Mike Rosengren, were taken from the beach at the Oasis RV Resort in Osoyoos.

The orange waxing crescent moon coloured by the wildfire was taken by Meghann Fletcher in Penticton on July 17, 2021.
