Penticton’s Pathways Addiction Resource Centre will hold a fundraiser barbecue on May 28.
The fundraiser event will offer burgers by donation from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Pathways parking lot on Main Street.
Since the Interior Health Authority pulled its funding for the centre in 2021, the treatment centre reopened under a new fee-for-service model that uses donations and support from the community to keep its programs going.
Those programs go beyond addiction treatment and include family counselling, anger management, trauma counselling and youth services.

The burger fundraiser is an idea by one of Pathway’s directors, as each month a different set of directors have their own turn to come up with fundraising ideas.
The barbecue itself is being provided by a local business for the fundraiser.
As a non-profit society, any donations of $20 and over will receive a tax receipt.
