Kids and adults alike are taking advantage of a make-shift skating rink made on Okanagan Lake in Penticton.

Some girls from KVR Middle School, joined by a younger sister, used their early dismissal on Tuesday to try out skating on the lake. Both 11-year-olds said the ice was in really good condition and it was a lot of fun to skate on the lake.

The cold snap last week has left Okanagan Lake partially frozen with dozens of ice volcanoes showing up all along the shoreline.

Someone cleared snow off an area of ice near the Peach, creating a small, make-shift skating rink.
