West Bench Elementary School has a new Little Library.
Pen High student Myles built the Little Library in his woodworking class with the help of his teacher Kevin Bond and some of his classmates.
The Little Library has been installed outside the school near the flag pole.
It’s already filled with books for people to enjoy.
These books are offered for free on a ‘take a book, leave a book’ system. They can be returned or passed on, although donations are always gratefully received.
Behind every Little Library in Penticton and across the Okanagan, there is a wonderful story. It usually starts with a book-loving resident who wants to share a love of reading with others.

The city of Penticton has a list of Little Libraries to visit in neighbourhoods.
Among the Little Libraries is one at 580 Braid Street, 168 Ponderosa Place in Wiltse and there’s Ollie’s Lending Library at 238 Douglas Avenue, which started when he was just four. But now he is still thrilled to see the library full of books.
There is also one on Conklin Ave. and Toronto Street.
