Penticton Indian Band announces possible COVID-19 case within community

Interior Health has not yet confirmed this information

The Penticton Indian Band (PIB) has begun contact tracing after they were notified of a possible positive COVID-19 test result within their community.

The information is according to a release posted on the Penticton Indian Band website, at pib.ca.

“The Penticton Indian Band Emergency Operations Centre has just been notified of a positive COVID 19 test result within our PIB community,” reads the release.

The band is recommending that anyone who attended the wake or funeral of a nation member in Oliver on Sept. 10 and 11, self-isolate and monitor for symptoms.

For immediate questions or concerns about COVID-19, the band requested that individuals contact PIB Health at 236-700-0674.

Interior Health has not yet confirmed this information. The Penticton Western has requested further information.
