The Penticton Farmers Market is switching operations to an online marketplace.
Amid COVID-19, the market, one of B.C.’s longest running, is facing new challenges. Previously the Western News reported that the popular summer market would not take place in April and May.

The group announced April 29 that it will be re-launching its online store at noon today, which will remain open for the full season.
Now, customers will be able to order from the same vendors they would see at the weekly market. Drive-thru pick-up will be available for these orders every Saturday at the Penticton Community Centre from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Any order placed before midnight on Thursday will be eligible for pickup the following Saturday.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from the community as we try to navigate these new challenges,” said market manager, Katherine Harris.
“While we all hope to be enjoying Saturday mornings at the market again soon, we want to do so with the health and safety of our community in mind.”
Harris explained the group hopes to establish a modified outdoor market at some point this season, however their online store will remain open for those not comfortable shopping in an outdoor market setting.
She further explained that new customers can expect more vendors and products to be uploaded to the Penticton Farmers’ Market Local Line page each week as more crops come into season.
