An event that has been showing off the Okanagan’s best features for 36 years is looking for volunteers.

The Peach Classic Triathlon, held on July 15, will include a new sprint race and will also host a national qualifier for the world championships to be held in Spain in 2019.

“We require a host of friendly volunteers to provide a down home small community feel that is truly appreciated by the athletes. There are many exciting opportunities for new or experienced volunteers at the Peach Classic Triathlon. Come out and support the athletes and the community,” said Steve Brown, race director.

The race, which takes participants around Penticton and to Naramata on the bike and run course, has 320 athletes signed up and is expected to cap out at 350 competitors.

Volunteers will receive a complimentary Peach Classic Triathlon shirt and share in the post event meal. Clubs, teams or non-profit groups also have the opportunity to earn some money for their organization by helping out at the race.

“We will need a wide range of volunteers in the days leading up to the event and the day of the race. We require approximately 25 volunteers including two groups for aid stations to fill in and make it a success,” said Brown.

Those interested in volunteering can contact Dawn at 250-486-5373 or email volunteers@threelakestriathlonseries.com.
