The Oliver Fire Department is gearing up for wildfire season.
A number of training exercises in the Wilson Mountain area headlined a day of practice and learning for the crews on Thursday, May 26.
“Exercises like these are invaluable to keep our members prepared for the upcoming fire season,” representatives from the department said.
Wildfire mitigation tactics like the “Bump and Run, Anchor and Hold, and Prep and Defend” were worked on throughout the day, they added.
The Willowbrook Fire Department also assisted in the training event by providing a water truck.
“We had two task forces in play including engines, tenders, wildland and command vehicles,” the department said.
The training took place on Oliver’s Patton Road and Wilson Mountain Road.
