The Summerland Yacht Club’s Great Ogopogo Bathtub Race has announced it exceeded its fundraising goal this year.
According to organizers, it delivered $23,500 to the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation this week, bringing the total money raised from the race series over the past five years to $124,500, which is “far in excess” of its target, reads the media release.
The Great Ogopogo Bathtub Race began in 2015 as a fundraiser for the Medical Foundation to help raise money for equipment at the new David E. Kampe Tower at the Penticton Regional Hospital.

“The next time you visit Penticton Regional Hospital, visit the SOS Cafe for a snack, where you will see recognition of this contribution,” reads the press release.
The club also thanked all its sponsors, volunteers and racers.
