Okanagan Falls Senior’s Association update

The officers and executive for 2011 were installed at the recent January meeting of the Okanagan Falls Senior’s Association. These were: President, Edna Moreland; First Vice President Merle Laidlaw; Second Vice President, John Van Bynan; Secretary, Margaret Baldwin; Treasurer, Janet Laczo. Directors are Lana Maber, Shirley Dawson, Ron Baldwin, Julius Borhi, Ed Klimek, and Marvin McKinnon. Immediate past President is David Stewart. Installing Officer was Audrey Steeves.

January birthdays and the 59th wedding anniversary of Ron and Margaret Baldwin was acknowledged.

The meeting was chaired by President Edna Moreland who appointed the various committees. Helping with the Tuesday bingo games at 1 p.m. is Janet Laczo, Lana Maber, and Shirley Dawson. For the third Saturday drop in bingo Dave and Dianna Stewart are helping out, with Lana Maber in the kitchen along with Moreen Thompson, Shirley Dawson, and Marvin McKinnon; Entertainment - Kevin Price, Maintenance - Julius Borhi.

Carpet bowling - Mondays and Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Other activities are in full swing and these include exercise classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:30 a.m., music and coffee from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on the same mornings as exercise. Bridge takes place at 1 p.m. Thursdays and cribbage on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

A pot luck supper took place on January 22 at 5:30 p.m. Also, the pool room is open whenever the activities are on in the hall .

The president thanked all who helped in making the full house Christmas dinner such a success. The next regular meeting is February 7 at1 p.m.
