Keremeos village council will decide on Jan. 20 whether to approve a contest to design a new logo for the community.
The proposed terms of the contest would see a design that has the name present, and reflect the surrounding mountains and river along with fruit and the slogan "kindness and friendship."
The winner of the contest would receive a prize of $200, the staff report proposes.
While the existing logo includes the river and mountains, staff state it fails to fully reflect the community.
If no suitable logos are created by local residents, the village would consider the costs of seeking a consultant to design a new logo.
The details of the contest, including when it would run and how to enter, would be released at a later date if council gives its approval.
