The Keremeos Elks prepared a spaghetti supper, the third annual, for members of the community who lent the Elks a hand at events that they worked on this past year.
Some of these projects are far beyond the ability of such a small organization. These volunteers helped the Elks who all are also volunteers, doing breakfasts in the park or helping at bingo or the rodeo. The rodeo, barbecue and parade is but one example, which will take over a hundred volunteer people. The supper served about 75 and was topped off with many door prizes donated by local merchants and wineries from our area. We thank the merchants.
Two special volunteer awards where handed out for volunteer service for us and the community.
John Sladen for his work in the rodeo arena as Arena Director including assembling help and for all the advance prep work needed.
Christy Quaedvlieg for her years of organizing the barbecue, at first with the Credit Union staff and the past six years with the cattlemen.
We thank you all for making our work possible to make our community a better place.
