An open house was held at the Keremeos Day Program Centre in the basement of Victory Hall on Friday, March 1 to mark the move to the program’s new quarters, from the back of the village office.

The Keremeos Day Program provides learning, social and recreational experiences for mentally challenged young people and adults. With the move to the new quarters, in the former Work Zone offices, Coordinator Kelly McKay said that she plans to have courses that will appeal to the public.

“We hope to invite the public to participate,” McKay said, “it will provide an opportunity for our participants to integrate into the community.”

McKay said course offerings could include such things as Yoga, CPR, and Food Safe programs.

Anyone interested in further information is invited to call 250-499-2388 and leave a message. The day program generally runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, but hours may vary as program participants engage in other community activities such as dog walking for senior and volunteer work at Orchard Haven.
