Kelowna casino opens new Poker room with $15K charity tournament

A new poker space is being opened to the public at Chances Casino on Friday, Sept. 27.

Maybe the newest dedicated Poker space in Kelowna will bring luck to gamblers in town.

Chances Casino Kelowna announced its first dedicated poker space is set to open to the public on Friday, Sept. 27.

But ahead of its opening, the new space held the first annual Charity Poker Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 22, which raised $15,000 for local organizations.

In the tournament, 10 participants played, each representing a charity. The grade prize of $5,000 was won by West Kelowna Warriors president Chris Laurie and rewarded to TeamUp Canada. 

The new poker room will be open Wednesdays-Saturdays after 5 p.m, with tournaments taking place on weekends. People interested in future tournaments can register at www.chanceskelowna.ca.
