There’s no shortage of ways to celebrate the May long weekend across the South Okanagan and Similkameen.

Here’s what’s happening from May 19 to 22:

Meadowlark Nature Festival (May 19 to 22):

Five days of nature-related events, from cycling loops to hiking tours, return to the South Okanagan and Similkameen this long weekend.

The Meadowlark Nature Festival runs from Thursday to Victoria Day on Monday, with a total of 48 different nature tours set to headline the festivities. Check out meadowlarkfestival.ca for details.

Thrash Wrestling (May 19):

Okanagan-based promotion Thrash Wrestling returns to the Luso House on Penticton’s Winnipeg Street on Friday, May 19, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at ticketseller.ca.

Penticton Bike Festival (May 19 to 22):

The second annual Penticton Bike Festival runs all weekend long across the city.

On Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m., the city is closing Westminster Road between Cannery Brewing and Highway 97 Brewing for a “bicycle show and shine.”

A group ride headlines the event Saturday before the festival wraps up Monday at the Poplar Grove Pump Track.

Opening Day for Community Market (May 20):

The Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association welcomes back the Community Market this Saturday.

The market will bring together local vendors and entertainment to 200 Main St., Front Street and Backstreet Boulevard, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., until Sept. 9.

Racing at the Speedway (May 20 to 21):

The annual Young Guns Memorial comes to the Penticton Speedway on May 20 and 21, for two days of racing.

Canadian Supertrucks and Hit-to-Pass are among the advertised events.

Tickets can be purchased at Penticton Speedway’s website.

Keremeos Rodeo (May 20 to 22)

The Keremeos Rodeo returns for its 82nd year this Victoria Day weekend, starting at 1 p.m. every day from Saturday to Monday.

The three-day event hasn’t run since 2019.

100th annual May Day in Naramata (May 19 to 22)

Traditions that date back 100 years run all weekend long in Naramata, like the Soapbox Race, May Day Family Dance and May Day Parade. The event, from Friday to Monday, is open to the public.
