October is Free Wills Month in the South Okanagan and the South Okanagan Women In Need Society is one of the charities being supported this year.
The program offers people aged 55 and older free wills, or updates to their existing simple wills by participating lawyers.
In addition to leaving surety behind in the case of death, the donations made in wills make the difference for many charitable organizations.
SOWINS has been working to help women and families in the South Okanagan for the last 40 years, and is looking to help more people for 40 more.
“Leaving a gift in your will gives SOWINS the opportunity to continue supporting our community for years to come. You can truly make a difference in the lives of women and children by leaving a legacy,” said SOWINS executive director Danielle Goulden in a release.
If you are 55 years or older and would like to get more information and be connected with a partnering lawyer in the community, go to www.freewillsmonth.ca to start the process.
