We lost track of how many years we have been putting on our Easter Fun Day but we know for sure now that we are seeing children that came when they were young, now coming with their own children so it has been well over 20 years.
It is the one day that we invite the community to get together and have some old fashioned fun for the whole family. Play a round of Bunny Golf, get your face painted, blow some bubbles with your children, play a round of Rabbit Ring Toss, get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny, and last but not least find that special egg in Nana’s Maze that has your child’s name on it.
At times Easter can be cold but we have the greenhouses, so that if the weather is terribly cold we can hold most of the events in them.
For the last few years, for safety’s sake of our children we have closed our main gate, and we continue to ask everyone to park out on the Ashnola Road, and walk in.
This year the COPS will be barbequing those delicious hot dogs and hamburgers. We would like to thank the cubs for all the years they have done it in the past.
Our event has been free of charge, thanks to all our volunteers, and our co-sponsors such as Valu Plus Foods for the candy donation, Pharmasave for developing those free pictures, and the Review, and South Okanagan Country Radio for the free advertising.
The Easter Fun Day event starts at 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday and ends at 1 p.m. I hope we will see you out once again young, and aged.
