The Summerland Museum is taking a page from the supernatural horror film Annabelle this Halloween when it puts the Spooky Dolls collection on display.
This October check out “Boudoir Dolls” (once fashionable accessories for women), Eaton’s Beauty Dolls, a dog pull-toy made out of a rabbit and a couple of clowns for good measure.
There will even be a doll on display estimated to be between 120 and 150 years old.
And, the creepiness doesn’t stop there, back by popular demand are the museum’s cemetery tours. Every Saturday in October, there will be guided walks among the grave markers of Summerland’s cemeteries, including for the first time Canyon View Cemetery as well as scenic Peach Orchard Cemetery.
To cap off the month a special free “Haunted Museum” trick-or-treating event will take place on Oct. 29, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Families are invited to dress up and brave the ghostly halls, where they will meet ghoulish characters and collect treats along the way. Hot chocolate will also be served.
