Boating season is officially being kicked off with the annual boat show in Vernon this weekend.
The Vernon Yacht Club hosts the free show Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is no parking at the club, but free shuttles will be available from Marshall Field (provided by Kal Tire), running every 10 minutes.
There will be 40 on-water boats on display, plus paddleboard and kayak demonstrations.
Organizer Dave Groleau is looking forward to a sunny weekend for the event as Environment Canada is forecasting highs of 21 and 22 degrees Celsius.
“Even last year with all the rain we had 1,000 people come through,” said Groleau.
