The Penticton Art Gallery has extended its annual art auction until Dec. 4 and moved it fully online.

The auction was originally going to end with a live event outdoors at Three Sisters Winery on Sept. 29, but due to the current COVID-19 situation, it was decided to stay fully digital instead.

The pre-bidding on the items has also been extended to Dec. 4 and all of the items, including a mammoth tusk that’s over 40,000-year-old, will be available for viewing in the Penticton Art Gallery from Nov. 12 to Dec. 5.

Instead of an in-person auction, there will be a live and silent auction held over Zoom on Dec. 5. All of the pre-bids will be carried over to the Zoom auction.

The online bids carry over onto the live and silent auction. The exact details of how the auction will be organized have not yet been announced.

Starting Nov. 19, the gallery’s annual Under $500 Exhibition and Sale will be open in the gallery as well. The Under $500 show runs until Jan. 8, 2022.

The full list of items that are up for bidding in the auction can be found by going to www.32auctions.com/PAG2021.
