A showcase of diverse traditions, dance, food and art will be on display in Penticton on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 26).

The ninth annual OneWorld Festival is back — virtually — for a celebration of the cultures that make up the community.

The South Okanagan Immigrant and Community Services (SOICS) has partnered with a number of local restaurants for special food offers all day long.

• Ashoka Indian Cuisine (10 per cent off all orders)

• Isshin ($20 OneWorld combo)

• Lachi Fine Indian Cuisine (Free Pakoras with purchase)

• The Prague Cafe ($4 cakes during the festival)

• EDSA MiniMart (10 per cent off all orders)

• Japanese Kitchen Kura (10 per cent off all orders from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

• Penticton Buffet (10 percent off all orders, excluding combos)

• Iyara Thai (10 percent off all orders from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.)

More than 35 countries will be represented during the virtual festival starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.

People are asked to mention the OneWorld Festival when ordering from the partnered restaurants on Saturday.

In lieu of in-person vendors, the eight select restaurants are offering Pentictonites a number of special food promotions.

Immigrant success stories and multicultural performances are included in the day’s festivities.

Community members interested in attending the ninth edition of the festival are asked to visit soics.ca/oneworld for streaming options.
