Old Order Distilling Co. just released their first Canadian whisky and it is already garnering accolades.
The whisky received a silver medal at the Canadian Artisan Spirits Awards when it was initially submitted last fall as an under-three-year-old whisky.

“With 45 of Canada’s roughly 120 small-batch distilleries, B.C. has led the country in building this exciting new industry,” said Alex Hamer, Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition founder.
During a blind tasting, independent judges from the CASA event describe the flavour as big and complex, tasting caramel, stone fruit, a bit of honey and oaky spices.
“(It’s) a three-year-old, single-cask, single-malt barley whisky with a limited release of only 300 bottles. The appearance is a rich amber colour, given the whisky was laid to rest in an American white oak cask that last held a premium B.C. sherry,” said Graham Martens, the owner and distiller at Old Order Distilling.
