Youth recognized for poster, essay competition entries

The Keremeos Legion provided entries into this year poster and essay contest.

Submitted Keityn Friesen earned first in the Intermediate category of the colour poster contest.

The winners of the Keremeos Legion poster and literary contests have been decided.

It was tough competition for the annual contest that has students and young people delve deeper into the meaning Remembrance Day.

Members of Royal Canadian Legion branch #192 forwarded the first place winners of each category to the Keremeos Review for publication.

This year’s winners include: Intermediate, black and white poster, Leah Riegling, colour poster, Keityn Friesen.

Intermediate poem winner: Peightyn Etty.

Junior black and white poster winner was Jagraj Lidhar and junior colour poster winner was Angela Omojuwa. The junior essay winner was Peter Ruckheim.

Primary black and white poster winner was Daiyn Dhaliwal and winner of the colour poster category was Haylie Glada.

First prize winners each received $20 while second place received $15 and third place received $10.

First place winners will now compete in the zone competitions.
