Occupants in a crash by Vaseux Lake, south of Okanagan Falls, is believed to have resulted in serious injuries, according to Oliver RCMP.
A release by Sgt. Blaine Gervais said in a news release that a car travelling toward Penticton attempted to pass another vehicle at a sharp corner at around 8:30 a.m.
The car went into to coming traffic and hit a truck moving south.
Injuries aren’t known at this time, but police say it is believed some serious injuries were sustained in the crash.
Police said the highway was closed to traffic due to the damage for some time, but opened up to single-lane alternating traffic at around 11:2 a.m.
DriveBC no longer lists the area as having disrupted traffic.
It’s the second crash in just a few days that has closed down Highway 97 by Vaseux Lake.
On Monday, a three-vehicle crash at around 8:10 a.m. resulted in no serious injuries, according to RCMP.
