There were no injuries as a result of a structure fire on Penticton Indian Band (PIB) land early Wednesday morning.
The structure, boarded up and seemingly vacant, previously caught fire several months ago, explained the Penticton Fire Department. It again caught fire at approximately 12:10 a.m., May 27.
The structure, which sustained significant damage, was located up Green Mountain Road, off Lilac Lane.
Penticton Fire Department deputy chief Chris Forster said there was an indication someone was living there, although they could not confirm this.
“We’re not sure whether someone actually was staying in there or not, that’s still undetermined,” said deputy chief Chris Forster.
“There was no injuries, or anybody inside,” he added.
Penticton Fire Department knocked down the blaze, and handed the scene over to PIB Fire Rescue.
