The Naramata Bench Wineries Association used the release of their annual spring wine release to help support the Make-A-Wish Foundation by hosting a charity tasting event on April 10 in Victoria.
“Through the support of the Naramata Bench Wineries Association as well as our participants and incredible sponsors,we were able to enjoy a lovely evening together and raise awareness and funds for granting wishes for kids who really need a boost in their spirits. A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved,” stated Ross Hetherington, CEO of Make-Wish BC & Yukon, in a press release.
Nineteen wineries provided some of their stock for the event. Attendees were able to taste some of the wineries spring releases. Accompanying the wines were dishes and samples from cafes, bistros, restaurants, and other food outlets from across Vancouver Island.
The event including silent auction and raffle raised $50,000. The auction featured wines donated by the wineries, as well as a cabin stay, meals, and tours.
