Armed with their (empty for now) colourful red and white hoisery, members of the Operation Stocking squad are on the march to city businesses.

The LocoLanding Fill a Stocking campaign in support of this year’s Toys for Tots to Teens event is now in full swing.

Companies are being encouraged to decorate a stocking with their logo and business names.

Organizers are also hoping that along with the stockings, which will be displayed on a donor recognition wall at Cascades Casino, businesses will include an unwrapped toy.

The stockings will be collected along with the gifts for children ages 1-17 on Dec. 1, at the Toys for Tots to Teens toy drop at Cascades Casinos from 7 to 9 a.m. or at Canadian Tire from 2 to 6 p.m.

“Our business community has always been tremendous, rallying when there is a need, and now we have over 1,500 children in need of gifts this Christmas,” said LocoLanding owner Diana Stirling in a press release. “We appreciate every organization that can help.”

Businesses interested in participating in the Fill a Stocking campaign can call 250-487-9186 or message the Toys for Tots to Teens Facebook page.
