Cawston Players take on Wizard of Oz

The Cawston Players Christmas Show is in rehearsal and appears onstage at The Cawston Community Hall December 8, 9 and 10.

This year it’s Wizard of Oz, as a traditional English pantomime, written and directed by Su Wolfe.

English pantomime is a riot of turns and twists from favorite stories like Cinderella, Treasure Island or, Sinbad and this year in Cawston, it’s Frank L. Baum’s classic, Wizard of Oz.

Offbeat humor, slapstick, song and dance are the order of the day in this family entertainment.

Shows on Friday and Saturday, December 8 and 9 start at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m. with doors opening at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for 12 years old and younger.

Advance ticket sales start November 23 at Westland Insurance (Similkameen Agencies) in Keremeos and at The Cawston Marketplace.
